DMK MD EMBIOMENT SYSTEM

Anyone who’s interested in maintaining a healthy diet is now likely to be aware of the importance of nurturing a healthy microbiome (defined in simple terms as all of the ‘good bacteria’ that are found within the human body); we all understand how important probiotics are to ensuring the internal workings of our bodies remain at their best.

But, for some reason, a lot of people still don’t realise just how important probiotics also are for good skin.

Well, the reality is that nurturing and supporting the health of microflora (the good bacteria that are found on the surface of the skin, and within the tissues of the epidermis) is the most powerful tool we all have at our disposal for maintaining healthy skin.
With this in mind, DMK’s founder, Danné Montague-King, made it an early focus of his research, to develop a ‘system’ of products that, when used in combination, could support and nurture this good bacteria. And that is how the DMK MD Enbioment range was born.
Having first realised the power of probiotics in fighting the debilitating effects of eczema, Danné’s interest was piqued and it led to the development of the DMK MD Enbioment range – consisting of Enbioment Cleanser, Enbioment Mist, and Enbioment Serum. When used in conjunction, these products are also a powerful tool for combatting rosacea, rashes, minor acne, reactive skin, or dry/scaly skin, and for supporting skin health in people on prolonged courses of antibiotics.

But producing products that have a genuine effect on the skin’s microbiome, is not as simple as the incorporation of probiotic cultures into topical creams, as is commonplace at the cheaper end of the skincare market. It required extensive research into how to encapsulate live spores in a dormant state so that they would only ‘come to life’ when coming into contact with the skin.
As Danné himself explains, in a recent episode of his Youtube series, What Does Danné Say?:

“We had to do this in steps; we had to produce a cleanser that would create the conditions for which a healthy microbiome could be established.

“Secondly, we had to create a spray that ensures the microbiome you do have is able to flourish and create a state of homeostasis.
“And finally, we had to create a finishing serum that restores the microflora balance.”

DMK’s philosophy has always been ‘Remove, Rebuild, Protect, Maintain’. And while many people become fixated with the ‘Remove’ part of their skincare regimen, when it comes to the ‘Rebuild’ phase, what they don’t realise is that their skin is now a breeding ground for bad bacteria, and if this becomes well-established, some of the chronic bacterial and fungal skin complaints we all dread, can take hold.

This is why rebuilding the microbiome of the skin is absolutely essential to ensuring its long-term health. If you think of your skin as an ecosystem that has been completely bulldozed (the ‘remove’ phase), if it is not tended to and nurtured, it will soon be overrun by weeds and other nasties, and will eventually be a completely untamed jungle. None of us want that!
